Catching Up

Last weekend we went to the beach. Ocracoke last Friday. Just got back home after riding to Boone on Saturday. I hope I'm home for the next few weekends.

Lady Gryphon soccer team continues to excel. A victory over over Beddingfield Friday night gets them to 12-2 on the season.

In what was suppose to be a down year for boys tennis after a victory over Northern Nash they are 4-2 in conference play an 6-5 for the season.

Rocky Mount Grad Jacobi Jenkins caught five passes in the Purple and gold game Saturday at ECU. Looks like Jacobi my win a starting wide receiver slot for the Pirates.

Terrell Hudgins caught a touchdown pass in a Elon scrimmage also Saturday.

Gryphon Baseball gets back to two conference games this week facing Southern Nash and Northern Nash at home Tuesday and Thursday.

Lauren Doughtie finished 5th at the ACC women's golf championships held this weekend in Greensboro. Her three rounds were 74-71-74. She has qualified for the NCAA regionals. Lauren will now wait til Wednesday to find out which regional the Wolfpack gets into.

Russell Wilson played in the N C State Red and White game yesterday afternoon and played second base for the baseball team Saturday night. Too bad he doesn't pitch. The 2009 Wolfpack relief corp is terrible. Florida State scores late and beats the relievers again.

This weekend is the Nash County Relay For Life. I want to invite everyone to come to the opening ceremonies starting at 6.00pm Friday. If you have never been it is a fun time for all and it's for a good cause. Try it you may like it.

Game three for the Carolina Hurricanes is today in Raleigh. The Canes can take control of the series with New Jersey if they win tonight.
