Weekend Of Truth

Friday night is the second week of high school football and many teams step up the level of competition and everyone will know after this weekend just how good they really are.

Beddingfield @ Southern Nash:  Beddingfield always presents  Southern with a contrast being a wide open offense.  Both teams are 1-0.  Beddingfield crushed Goldsboro 45-10.  The Southern Nash Firebirds crushed Northwood at the half and called off the dogs in the second half.  I just can't see the Bruins out scoring the Firebirds.  Southern Nash 36 Beddingfield 20

Nash Central @ Smithfield Selma:  The Bulldogs have lost 25 straight games.  During those same 25 games Smithfield Selma has won only four games.  This is their  chance to break the streak.  There is no doubt Tarboro is a lot better team than  SS.  Going out on a limb and predict the losing streak ends if they don't make a gross mistake near the end in a close game.   Started out 7-0 last week on predictions and Nash Central wins 26-20.

Rocky Mount @ Middle Creek:  Middle Creek returns 40 letterman from last year's squad 9-3 last week whipped a really good  Wakefield team 45-31 after trailing 7-24.  This will certainly give Rocky Mount a good read on this year's squad.  If they get blasted it will tell us last week's win not very good against SG.  If it is a close game with a chance to win this is real good news for Gryphon Fans.  A victory look out for the Gryphons.  Middle Creek  35 Rocky Mount 21

Northern Nash @ Northeastern:  Seems as if Northeastern has been really good since Northern put them on their schedule.  Northern needs a good outing in this one.  The defense did well but the offense showed nothing.  Doubt Knights can make trip to Elizabeth City and win.  Eagles 28 Knights 7.

Tarboro @ Washington:  Washington slaughtered the Vikes  Last  year in Tarboro.  Washington got clobbered by Havelock last week.   Who in the world can make a pick in this one.    Tarboro is a solid 1-A team and can give any team a good game.  I think Washington takes this one in a close game 26-22.

SouthWest Edgecombe @North Edgecombe: the Cougars simply too good for the Warriors.  36- 8.

Rocky Mount Academy @ Lawrence:  I think we will all find that the Eagles will be fine this year.  Lawrence beat Halifax 18-14 last week.  You know on a historical trip the new Lost Colony is only a couple of miles from Lawrence.  RMA  doesn't get caught up in the history they rebound 36-14.

Rocky Mount Prep is off this week.
