Fourth Trip In A Row

The Tarboro Vikings make their 4th straight trip to the State 2-A Championship as they have their shortest ride of the playoffs of only 75 miles to Carter Finley Stadium where they will meet up with the Wolves of Lincolnton for the Title Saturday.

It is always best when you play your most important games that everyone that you have that wears the Purple of Tarboro needs to be on the field.  Unfortunately Tarboro will limp into this final game.  They have several that may not play and some that do will not be at 100%. We would all believe that Lincolnton is a power house having lost only once the second game of the season.  They are averaging 43 points per game while Tarboro just a tad more than 34.

Lincolnton gives up 15 per game while Tarboro almost  18.  I have to be as truthful as possible with the Viking faithful.  This is a real tough game to say I think the Vikings win this one.  In fact I think most  points spreads on this one favor the Wolves by at least ten.

The one advantage the Vikings have is they have been here before  and for most of these guys they have won three games this year that if they had not been here before they could have easily lost.  You have to give the Vikes credit for the playoff experience.  I'll be rooting hard for Vikings but I don't think they can take this one.

I hope Sunday night when we have Coach Craddock and some of the players on the Stretchlon Sports Show win or lose  we can say the Viking over came injuries and the odds and are three time State Champions.

If you thought that Rocky Mount girls beating Beddingfield Tuesday was a  rout when they won 81-27 how about tonight?  Rocky Mount 87 Hertford County 28.  Since they lost opening night to a very tall Millbrook 4-A team  the Lady Gryphons have taken down Fike by 39, Beddingfield by 54 and now HC by 59.  I think the opening night lost woke up the Lady Gryphons.

The Rocky Mount boys have started out the season winning their first four games tonight in Ahoskie they beat the Bears of Hertford County .
