Look At Those Panthers

There was a point in this NFL football season that the Carolina Panthers had a stretch where they were 1-8-1.  That part of the season made you forget that they won their first two games of the season.  The Panthers go undefeated in the month of December to finish 7-8-1 and by virtue of playing in the worst division  in football win the NFC South.

The amazing December run the Panther defense took control allowing only 40 points in December.  Two of those four games were on the road in New Orleans and Atlanta the two teams that were suppose to be the king pins of the NFC South.  Carolina beat New Orleans 41-10 and last night with win and you are in for the winner the Panthers destroy Atlanta 34-3.

Yes the NFC South is the worse division in football and the Panthers have a losing record.  In fact there are 11 teams in the AFC with at least 8-8 record and the NFC have six so the Panthers have the 18th best record in football.  Yet, they will host the Arizona Cardinals next Weekend.

The Seattle Seahawks  earn home field in the NFC while the Packers get the week off  as the second seed.  Carolina as the fourth seed will host Arizona while Dallas will host Detroit.  The AFC New England  gets home field while Denver get the week off as the two seed.  The Steelers will host Baltimore and Cincinnati will travel to Indianapolis.

The Arizona Cardinals who are down to their third quarterback has and outstanding defense but what has developed is the defense can't hold NFL  teams to no points.  The Cardinals have scored only 36 points their last six games and yet their defense has them in the playoffs.

Who can believe this the Panthers will be the favorite next week and if they lose to Zona it will be an upset.   NFL history tells us the hot team in the end will win and right now Seattle is the only other team in the NFL with four wins in a row.
