I See Hope

It is a wonder that anybody who is on the sidelines of any football game  doesn't get wiped on on any play near the sidelines.  Players come charging around the end and defenders are coming as fast trying their best to knock who ever has the ball into kingdom come.

There is one rule for the chain gang that the sideline official reminds everyone every game.  Get out of the way when the play is heading your way.  My days of being a brave football player ended at age  21 after knee surgery and the pain when parts of your knee go one way and other parts go the other.

Any play once the the ball is near the yardage marker and still heading my way the chain is now on the ground and I am heading toward the other side of the bench looking for protection.  There was one play where a Nash Central runner jumped the bench but luckily  for me I was at the other end of that same bench.  There were several plays where tackles were made and as players near the sideline they get slung out of bounds and anyone in their path will go down like bowling pins.

There is one thing I like about the sidelines and that is listening to the coaches  as the game progresses.  You have those who are at the throats of their players the entire game.  Then there is the coaches that don't seem to know what is happening as the game moves forward.  If you are Nash Central Bulldog fan despite your record this year or over the past several there was some real coaching going on.

There is another aspect you also hear and it's the calls from the stands about play calling.  Those that love Nash Central are very frustrated about what has happened to Bulldog football and would like to win every game right now.

Just a little scouting report.  Rocky Mount was faster and stronger than the Bulldogs.  Any coach who shows up in January  can't make the team as strong as the other sidelines in Six months.  I heard one coach tell one of the players that as soon as the season was over that they were going to get started to get as strong as the Gryphons.

Five games to go in this season Nash Central has one win and four of the remaining five they will not be favored and a toss up in the other.  Just remember this getting stronger is something that has to happen off season but from what I saw Friday night they are getting the proper coaching to teach this team how to play football.  Never saw where it looked as if the coaches had no idea of their mission even as the team was being dominated by the Gryphons.

Bulldog fans there is hope you need to support the efforts of the players and coaches because they are getting there !
