The Case Of Anthony "Cat "Barber

He led the ACC in scoring well over 23 points per game.  He play on a team that didn't have another dependable player that the Pack could count on to be consistent every night.  The result a losing season in a year the ACC is having a banner year in the NCAA playoffs without the Pack.  The result just maybe the best player in the ACC didn't win the award because he played on a losing team

A junior he has decided to go pro an see if he can get picked up and drafted by an NBA team.  At this point it seems he will go in the second round which is not a guaranteed contract.  A guaranteed contract means whether he makes the team or not he would get paid for the length of his deal.   A non guaranteed contract would be no money if he doesn't make the team.

There are many people upset that any player leaves the school they committed to play any sport for  to turn pro early.  Coaches jump from one team to the next whenever they have a good year at one school and they get picked up your another.  We as regular Joe Blowe's of the world will change jobs in a flash if the next company will give us just a dollar an hour more.

If Barber fails to make the NBA there is basketball all over the world.  The average USA player makes from a hundred thousand to a half million a year be pending on how well they play and the team they play for.  I know there are many of us who would not mind making a half million a year.

If we can compare "Cat" to any player already in the NBA and to me he would be very similar to Raleigh's very own John Wall.  Wall who played for Kentucky for one year was an scorer not the  point guard who distributes the ball to others.  Wall was a first round pick.

Any one in life most of the time timing plays a big part of life.  Whether "Cat" goes in the first round might be more money for him but it might not give him playing time with whatever team might draft him.  He might have a longer career in a foreign country and in the long run make more money in life.  The only way to know will be to see his timing in life.
