Football has added 16,000 seats since the turn of the century. Basketball added 40% more seats in 1999 and baseball has doubled their capacity in the last seven years. Why do Wolfpack fans keep supporting these teams who clearly have only had an occasional great year every blue moon?
If you look at Duke, Carolina and State next year in basketball, I don't care how good of players they have coming if each doesn't improve the point guard play they will be just as bad next year. Duke has lost Scheyer at point guard. Scheyer was may be the best point guard in the league last year. Carolina didn't have a point guard this year and the regular season was 16-16 and the Wolfpack had the worse point guard play in the league.
People forget with all the hype regarding recruits that the top recruits for each is not a point guard. Each one next season had better show improvement. Duke's case I don't see with what they have coming back that I would even put them in top twenty next year. Freshman point guards had better be great or all three could have downer years next year.
Tennis plays Eastern Wayne in the opening round of the state playoffs Tuesday . Eastern Wayne beat the Gryphons in the very first match of the season. Soccer will play in the semi-finals of the Big East soccer tournament Tuesday at Hunt. Baseball has their final home game in the regular season Tuesday night against Southern Nash.
I hate the JV's playing in basketball in the same location as the varsity. If basketball girls JV plays at 4pm and JV boys don't start to 5.00pm that pushed varsity back to 6.30 for girls and when ever for the boys. Baseball is doing the same thing. I would really like to see the JV's play Monday Wednesday and Varsity Tuesday Thursday. Baseball could use Friday at a rain date if needed.
