Rocky Mount High school sent two runners to today's events and both will be called All State performers once they get to school on Monday. Senior ZiKeena Parker ran 7.28 second 55 meters and won the State Championship in that event. It has become a tradition at Rocky Mount High School to put a banner up in the gym displaying the names of each and every state champion. Parker has earned her banner. It is a good thing that starting in the school year of 12/13 there will be a new gym wall to start adding the banners to as the old gym is about full.

Parker followed up her state championship run in the 55 meters and finished third in the 300 meter run. If you make the top four in any event you are considered an All State performer so Parker has made all state in two events.

Gryphon junior Paul Lilley has finished second in the 1000 meter run. Lilley who is a soccer player in the fall and has piddled with long distance running has a great chance in the spring to become a champion. Tevin Richardson of Nash Central finished fourth in the 1000 earning all state honors.

The Nash Central 4x800 Relay team has claimed second spot. The team of Jeremy Judd, Andrew Nguyen, Tevin Richardson and Will Bass ran a 8.33 relay in finishing second.
