Oh boy, rain has done in the Knights/Viking football game again. They will try again Monday night and of course since this is a non conference game and playing on Monday night cuts into both teams preparation for conference play next week.
Wes Bradshaw will be back in the saddle for the TV coverage for WHIG-TV Monday night. I'll be at Nash Central covering Volleyball between SouthWest Edgecombe and the Bulldogs. I have no idea when they will show the replay of the football game.
I ran into coach Brian Winham last Monday while I was at Nash Central covering the soccer game for the Stretchlon Sports Show. I asked him how Will Bass was doing at William and Mary and if he was running yet since he finished his career on the injured list at the end of spring.
Coach Winham proudly told me that his top six Cross Country runners from last year were all on Cross Country teams in College. Will Bass is running but has yet to run in a meet for William and Mary as he is still coming back from his injury. Tevin Richardson is running for ECU and I also found out that former Bulldog Dillon Hawley is also on the X Country team for ECU. Jeremy Judd and Andrew Nguyen are running for Pembroke. Daniel Strutton is at Barton and Mason Williams is also running in college. I know I have a photogenic memory but by the time I got home I had forgotten where he told me where Mason was running.
I heard former Northern Nash baseball star Tyler Joyner is officially back on the roster of the ECU Pirates baseball team.
Jerrick Oxendine formerly of Faith Christian has made the baseball team at Wake Tech Joining Nash Central player T J Taylor.
Just for your information. Most of the time when I doing this blog daily I write it most of the time between 9pm and bedtime for me. I have it ready to go and when I get up in the morning I just hit the magic button to publish what ever I have written the night before. Mr anonymous asked yesterday why I had not told the Rocky Mount-Hunt soccer score from Wednesday night. The reason was by the time I had written my piece for Wednesday night I didn't know the score. In fact I did not find out the score until Thursday night at the Volleyball game which I included in my Thursday night writing.
