Dark Blue beats The Light Blue

North Carolina ran into a team today that was not about to go into the prevent win offense like they have faced the past two days. Down 19 in the second half when Carolina made their run to cut the lead to 9 Duke kept right on with the game plan and in doing so wins the ACC Title beating Carolina 75-57.

Nolan Smith who to me should be the NCAA player of the year won the MVP award from Carolina Freshman Harrison Barnes who had the award locked up after the first two games of this tournament. All Barnes needed was for Carolina to win today but by not winning Barnes settles for first team all Tournament.

Tonight at 6.00pm when the NCAA Brackets are released it will start the second biggest gambling frenzy in the USA in any one year. Only the Super Bowl has more dollars gambled on the big game. Every break room in America will have a bracket posted and a pot on the line for the winner three weeks from now. The amount of money may not be as much as is spent on the Super Bowl but probably a thousand times more people take part in the fun.

You may need a TV Guide for the first time when the NCAA Tournament starts. CBS is trying to make sure that every game will be national and in order to do that TNT, TBS and truTV will join CBS in the coverage of the games. If you have no idea what truTV is, one of their top shows is the Lizard Lick Towing. It is a series involving Repo Companies across the United States and film crews go with them while doing a repo.

Yes this is the Lizard Lick located near Raleigh. I know Bobby the tow truck driver for Lizard Lick Towing and he does some business with our company. He told me I needed to watch the show and I have. It is almost like Pro wrestling without a ring.

The last week or two all eyes have been on the NFL and the NFLPA during their negotiations trying to come up with a new contract in order that we have NFL football in the fall. High profile players are threatening to sue the NFL players in order to keep the NFL teams from locking out their players.

Recently Philip Rivers was invited to speak to a Catholic group in Arizona. Rivers on the day of the event tried to get a flight out of his home in San Diego only to find out that due to weather the flight was cancelled. Rivers then proceeded to drive 350 miles and seven hours driving time to speak at this event. He spoke for approximately twenty minutes or so and after the event drove seven hours back home. Rivers has never said one word about it but the group he spoke too has.

Whether it is the NFL owners or the NFL players most are good people who take their responsibilities seriously in life. All we ever hear about is the bad news that they are involved in.
All of the news media has become the "Inquirer" through time and good news doesn't sell.
