Only Game In Town

I think if you asked both Jeff Craddock and Mickey Crouch they would rather be off tonight like the schedule called for and rest their players who are nursing injuries.  That is the deck of cards that they received  as their date back in August was  postponed by the Hurricane.

Since it is the only game in town I would suspect a big crowd in Tarboro as all the coaches of the Big East and Eastern Plains will get a chance to scout their future conference  foes.  I suspect you will find many area players making the scene in Tarboro as well.

I will be there filling in for Wes Bradshaw on the WHIG-TV game of the week.  The replay will occur Saturday morning at 11 and Sunday night at 9pm.  Many of you that know Wes, it took him longer than most to settle down  and get high school out of his blood. . He married earlier this year and since then you have not seen him at every game going on that you might have seen him in the past.  Let me just say this the boy has settled down and now is an old married man.   I received a called earlier this week  and Wes announced to me that he and his lovely bride are expecting ,  Congratulations to the Bradshaws

As expected Nash Central girls tennis team beat Rocky Mount for the second time Thursday by  a 7-2 score.Soccer played Hunt Wednesday night and this is a hard score to swallow but Hunt wins 8-0.  Cross Country won their weekly conference meet held at Nash Central on Wednesday.  They done this despite not having Mason Holt who is out with an injury.

Thursday started the second round in Big East Volleyball and Evie Hunter served first for Rocky Mount and before she was through serving Rocky Mount has a 10-0 lead and never looked back winning game one 25-12.  They followed with 25-14 and  25-11 scores over Nash Central.

The battle for second spot in the standing went to Northern Nash as they beat Hunt in three sets.  I don't think Hunt has gotten over the five set loss that they have against Rocky Mount having lead two games to one and then losing the fifth set 32-30.  They are 2-3 since.  Northern now has second by themselves.
