Wednesday afternoon in the weekly Big East cross Country meet Rocky Mount boys lead by James Bond finished second behind Nash Central and the girls had four runners in the top ten to finish third just nine points from winning.

Tonight the JV football team scored on the last play of the game to prevent a shutout as SouthWest beat the Gryphons 32-6.

NOW for Friday Night football:

Rocky Mount at Southwest. The Cougars had better be ready, if they think the Gryphons will be a push over they might be sadly mistaken. Do I think Rocky Mount can win No. But Rocky Mount is better than you think. SWE 26 Rocky Mount 14

Nash Central is home to Bertie. I think the score will be about the same when the Gryphons beat Bertie opening night Nash Central 26 Bertie 6

Northern Nash is home to South Johnston the team that knocked both Rocky Mount and Southern Nash out of the playoffs last year. This might be a very interesting game but the SJ wins South Johnston 26 Northern Nash 14.

Southern Nash hurting from last weeks lost to Roanoke Rapids host South Granville. The Firebirds get back on track 35-13

The game of the night occurs up I- 95 as Tarboro travels to Roanoke Rapids. Both of these teams are unbeaten and this will tell us about whether RR win over Southern Nash was a fluke. Tarboro 20 Roanoke Rapids 14

Hunt will try to rebound from their last minute loss at SWE playing Beddingfield. Hunt should will 26-7.

Fike host C B Aycock. This should be low scoring. Fike 14- Aycock 6.

North Carolina State beats Cincinnati 30-19 to give the ACC their first win on national TV this season. The Pack is 3-0 with Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech and ECU the next three weeks.
