Team Work Wins

Today most of the media in this world is in shock that the Dallas Mavericks won the NBA championship over the Miami Heat.  The bottom line the team with the best team work won.

The experts all said that Miami had three superstars where Dallas only had one.  I will admit you have to look long and hard to find it but Dallas had better team work than the Heat.  The Mavs #1 gun didn't play all that well but the rest of the team picked up the slack. 

All three of Miami's Superstars played with the look of not trying to lose instead of playing to win. It  was simple only one ball was available and Miami needed three balls on the court at one time so there was no advantage having three Superstars when Dallas could cover all of them.

You know when all of this Miami discussion got started last summer during Lebron's big announcement I thought Lebron's was saying I'm not as good as you think I am and need help.  Lebron did not play as badly as the media has made out like he did but Lebron is no Magic Johnson.  Johnson and Lebron are close in size and Magic could play all five positions well.

Miami needs a big man in the middle to win a title.  The money being spent on the team now, Can they afford a big money center or power forward?

NBA basketball is too much one on one.  Dallas played the best team ball and in the end team beat the team full of one on one  players.

UVa is playing a third game today in the NCAA Super Regionals.  Virginia has about the best pitching staff in the countryy.  The Cavs have made it to the super regional three straight years.  They need to be able to score more than five runs in order for their pitching to win.  The teams left can hit the ball as well as pitch.  Is Virginia going to get caught three years running not scoring enough runs to win even though they have the best pitching staff?

Post 58 returns to the diamond Wednesday night at Wilson in Fleming Stadium.  It will be interesting to see how Post 58 responds to the week off.  Will they be flat in a important Area game or will they be reinvigorated from having a few days away to graduate.
