VolleyBall Streak Grows To 25

Tuesday's show down with Northern Nash  went the Gryphons way as the the Lady Gryphons go through the first cycle of conference games to extend their three year Big East regular season record to 25-0.  The Lady Knights did all they could to force a game five but Rocky Mount wins 3-1.

Clearly this years Volleyball team is not the strongest of the three that Tab Wilcox has had since taking over for the retired Debbie Webb who left the Lady Gryphons on a two year conference champions streak  in the NEW-6.

They are the most athletic team in the conference  but today they faced a taller Lady Knights squad who now find themselves behind Rocky Mount by two games heading into the second round of conference.  These two will meet the last regular season conference game and the year at Northern and they will both be taking part in the Susan G Komen Breast Cancer game at Northern this year.

Tennis collided with Northern Nash and Rocky Mount takes a 8-1 conference win in that one.

Now that the ACC has expanded to 14 teams it looks as if further expansion will be on hold until two schools decide what they are going to do.  Texas is of course the Big Dog everyone is waiting on and I think the Longhorns will head to Pac 16.  Then that leaves what will Notre Dame do?  Now that the Big East is being ripped a part will the Irish leave the Big East to protect all of their other sports.  Being truthful for all of you Irish fans out there.  If the four Super Conferences say Notre Dame we will not let you be a part of our playoff format as an independent then they will have to join the ACC?  Wouldn't that be  a slap in the Big Ten's face?
