It's Back To Basketball

High schools crank back up next week when conference play picks up on Friday. So far this pre conference schedule Fike leads the way with an impressive 9-1 mark.  The quality of their foes is questioned when others have played much tougher schedules.  MyQuan Gooding the 6'6' Senior is leading the way for the Golden Demons scoring at a 13.7 clip and is hauling down 8.2 rebounds

Rocky Mount is next with a 7-2 season so far and their two losses have come at the hands of tall 4-A South Central who are 9-1 so far.  Isaiah Alston 16.3-Kenaz Cooper 11.3 and Broderick Caudle lead the scoring for the Gryphons.  Amir Pittman is the leading rebounder at five per game.  Their schedule has been rather tough.

Southern Nash has 8 wins with 4 losses.  They took a couple of losses over the holidays in a tournament  against stiff competition and are led by Marquise Wright at 15.2 and Emmanuel Merriweather 11.7.  The top loose ball grabber is Wright pulling down 10.5 per contest.

Nash Central stands at 6-3.  Josh Mullins 16.8 and Aaron Spivey 11.8 lead the Bulldogs in points through the hoop.

Hunt 7-4 There is no doubt that Hunt has played the most difficult schedule of any of the Big East teams to date.  I have no data on their scorers but they have held their own against some high class teams.

Northern Nash:  Sophomore Darius Spragley leads the way for the Knight and is getting plenty of help.  Northern is improved over the past even though their record is only 3-7.

Anytime a team doesn't play the same teams it is hard to figure the value of a victory over an easy opponent  compared to a close loss to a really top notch team.  From what I have seen so far here is the way I see the Big East Boys by Tournament time.

Hunt                    8-2
Rocky Mount      7-3
Southern Nash    6-4
Fike                     6-4
Northern Nash    2-8
Nash Central       1-9

Well that's the way I see it what yours
