Move Over Tiger

There is now a new sheriff in town on the professional golf tour and his name is Rory Mcllory.  The 22 year old followed up his 80 on the final round of the Masters and shoved the US Open down every other players throat.  There is just something  about him that gives you the look that he is not going to be in flash in the pan.  Only time will tell.

This weekend the Futures Tour had their major and Cousin Lauren finished in the money tied for 71st. Her four rounds were 75-70-77-77. She will be heading to Colorado in two weeks to play in her second Women's U S Open.

If he continues at this pace don't expect Xavier Macklin to stay in the rookie league for long.  After his opening night 1-5 X sat out the game on Saturday and his team failed to score.  Sunday the X Man went 3-5 with a triple and three rbi. He needs to stay on this kind of pace and a higher level will come calling.

UVA won their opening game in the College World Series 4-1 over Cal.  They will not play again until Tuesday night.  North Carolina plays for their 2011 season today as they play Texas at 2.00pm.  Lose and the season is over.

If you have not seen Post 58 play this season this week will be as good of a chance as you will get.  They play four times at home.  It starts tonight as Cary makes their second trip  here this season.  Wednesday Wilson is in town and if 58 can win it would clinch first place during the regular season.  They still have a trip to Edenton Friday and Wilson returns here Sunday for a second game this week.  A victory over Wilson would give CP58 any tie breaker with Post 13.  They also are home Thursday against Wayne County.

Post 58 has made it to the State Tournament the last two seasons.  There is still ten wins that must be gotten in the playoffs in order to make a third trip in a row to the tournament.  This team has displayed the ability to do the little things that make the difference in games.

Saturday night twice they took extra bases when Edenton failed to do fundamental things. Once a Post 58 attempted bunt the third baseman left 3rd base charging after the attempted bunt  and our runner advance to third when no one cover the bag.

Then later a foul out just  in foul territory behind the third base bag our runner tagged and advance to third when the pitcher stood and watch his teammate make a great catch.  This team is not only talented but they know how to play the game.

Saturday's doubleheader they showed that with the pressure on in a close game they play good fundamental baseball and won game one when it was probably their worse game so far this year.

Come watch this week, I think you will like what you see.
