Yes the rains cooled everything off but it was back up to 97 degrees when we walked into the stadium. There was a nice breeze blowing but after the game at10.15 it was still 85 degrees. It was plenty hot but that breeze sure did make it livable. The Bulls winning 9-2 didn't hurt.
Day two of the North Carolina American Legion State Baseball Tournament in Morehead City sees Cary fall for the second day in a row. Saturday they lost to the host
Cary and Hickory by losing yesterday are out and it is down to six teams to go. Wayne County with only three games today finally gets out of that 10 am game and doesn't play until 4.30 today against High Point after they lost Saturday to Cherryville.
I don't know whether it is the confidence of having qualified for the U S Open or what but Cousin Lauren is tied for fifth heading into the final round on the Futures Tour today. She still has a barrier to get over. Last week her first two rounds were 71-70 but on Sunday she shot a 78 and plundered all the way to 65 after being 24th through two rounds.
Friday she shot a 71 but yesterday she shot a 67 which is her personal best since turning pro. She will be in the third group from the end today and finds herself just two shots out of the lead. I don't care at this point about her winning as much as today being a day to get over the hump of not shooting 75 or worse at least once every tournament.
Good Luck Lauren I'll be watching your score card on line starting when she tees off at noon.
