Exams and Semester Break Over

Tonight Rocky Mount boys and girls remained unbeaten in conference play heading into a Tuesday night match up with Northern.  The girls will be playing for first place while the Gryphon boys hope to remain unbeaten against the Knights.

Injuries to both Carolina and State's shooting guards Thursday night raises big questions about both teams future play.  I don't think there is many Carolina fans happy where the team is right now but they still stand 15-3 which is nothing to sneeze at.  Friday night doctors still had not determined how severe Dexter Strickland's knee injury is and 24 hours later if they still don't know then it can't be all that good.

C J Williams shoulder injury for the Pack  is more day to day and Sunday's game at Miami he just might play and then again maybe not.  The Pack can not afford any front line player to miss time because this year when any player  has missed minutes the team has struggled. Both Strickland and Williams are their teams best defender away from the basket so any missed time will hurt both teams.

Sunday's pairing for the AFC and NFC Championship games  are a odd lot.  New England's defense looked like world beaters last week but you have to remember they played the worse passing offense in the league in Denver.  Over the years Baltimore has been one of those teams that has had the Patroits number.  Can baltimore score enough to win?  To me this game is a coin flip.  Any time it is a tossup I'll take the home team.  Pats 23-20

If last Sunday was the first time you have really paid any attention to the 49ers then you can be labeled  with that east Coast Bias.  These 49ers are good.  You know any time a player (Vernon Davis) comes off the field crying because  of the effort he gave you have to understand these players are all in to win.  I truly don't think Eli Manning can win for the Giants without help from the running game.  Niners 17-G-Men 13

Well I'll play devils advocate. First off, Ray Lewis will refuse to lose. Ravens win 21-17. And in the NFC game, I think Eli shows he is a Top 5 QB. I think he CAN go on the road and win this game. Giants win 24-16. Rematch of Super Bowl XXXV. Go Ravens.....
