Rumors Finally True

The rumors were so hot and heavy before Christmas that the Rocky Mount Telegram actually did an article and for a while  the rumors stopped.  Mid January they were back again that "Dickie" Schock had resigned but was still teaching his classes. There has never been an official word one way or the other since the newspaper article before Christmas.

Today if you go on the Nash Rocky Mount website you will see posted a job opening for head football coach for Rocky Mount High.  Right now there has been no explanation of the reason for the opening.

Last night's 100 point performance by Rocky Mount is a good sign.  They played to a high level against a team that they didn't necessarily need to go all out to beat.  There is a greater chance of collecting bad habits when you concentration level is not a complete focus on the game.

The Lady Gryphons played without Tia Hudgins who was out with illness. They struggled at times with out her.  You know the boys struggled during the two week period that Donte Battle was out with an ankle injury.  This time of year you need all the parts in just the right places to make everything work like it is suppose to.

Just watch N C State and Wake with the Wolfpack winning.  We saw this in the Carolina game that State has a difficult time going at the basketball against a tall front line.  Wake is tall but not athletic.  Once State got the running game going being tall under the basket didn't matter.  Wake has to play every game the way they did today in order to win or stay in any game. One point in time they made 8 out of 12 three point shots to keep them in the game.  If they stay close a three pointer could win one along the way.

Super Bowl time is here and if you were to pick the hottest team then that would be the Giants,  If you pick the team with the best  pass rush it would be the Giants.  I give the edge at quarterback to New England but the pass rush could negate that. Running game is about even.  Every expert in the world is picking the Giants.

I don't think the Giants play very well when every thing is going their way.  When they were 6-2 they played awful for several weeks until it got to be do or die.  There is no talk of this but I have to believe the Patroits have revenge on their mind for giving the 2007 Super Bowl away.

I'm picking the Pats 23-17.
