I think Williamston would like to see Rocky Mount play somebody else when it comes to the State Tar Heel State championships that started Thursday night in Williamston. In the coach pitch division which is 7/8 year olds Rocky Mount finished second in the district tournament but qualified for the State tournament. They opened the State tournament beating Williamston 11-1. The Midget division which is the 9/10 year olds Rocky Mount beat Williamston 17-1 and the senior division 11/12 year olds beat Williamston 2-0.
All three Rocky Mount recreation teams playing in the tournament advanced to the winners bracket and played Friday night
