Almost to a man the entire 14U Nash County Babe Ruth team that as 13 year olds finished second a year again in the 13U Southeast Regional begins the quest to do one better this year in Newton NC. Nash County is in the five team American Bracket with Monroe Al, Union County NC, McLean-Great Falls VA, and Key West Fl.
The National bracket has Yadkin Co NC, Fernadina Beach Fl, Humboldt TN, Lawrenceburg TN and the host team Newton NC.
Nash County will play Key West Wednesday night at 8pm and will play each team in their bracket through Saturday. The top two from the American bracket will play the top two from the National Sunday afternoon and the two winners square off late Sunday night for the Southeast title. LET'S GO NASH COUNTY!!!!!!!!!
Tuesday Shelby beat Gaston twice to win the State American Legion State title. As crazy as this tournament has been High Point has appealed their forfeits and wouldn't this really finish off a wild year if they win and are allowed to go to the Regional with Shelby. By the way Shelby becomes the first team to ever win the state title with two losses. They did get one of them back as a forfeit.
Shelby will now head to Asheboro who is hosting the Southeastern Regional and the winner there heads to the World Series in Shelby. Shelby could make it to the World Series and never leave North Carolina.
