Give me a break please. I'm not running a daily newspaper here but a blog with only a few words per blog. We have so many athletes playing so many sports that one blog can not cover all of them in one day. My plan was to do the girls on Monday following the guys from Sunday but the Panthers winning the NFC South preempted to today. So here you go what our ladies from our local high schools are doing in college.
J'Kyra Brown : Rocky Mount and University of Virginia... Sitting out after transferring from ECU. Won best offensive player award as a freshman at ECU.
Alexus Cooper: Rocky Mount and Eastern Kentucky...Junior averaging 3.1 points per game. Has started four of ten games.
Alexus Hill: Northern Nash and Gardner Webb...freshman back up point guard averaging 15 minutes per game playing time and 5.8 points.
Carmen Richardson Rocky Mount and Queens College....playing 15.8 minutes and scoring 5.3 points per game.
Ni'ya Styles: Nash Central and Mount Olive University.... Freshman started seven of ten games averaging 27.8 minutes per game and 11.7 points per game.
TyAis Cooper: Rocky Mount and Catawba Valley Community College... Basketball On roster but has not played this year.
Camille Branch: Northern Nash and Winston Salem State....sophomore volleyball. Had seven kills this past fall.
Randi Price: Nash Central and Barton Tennis....was 10-6 in singles matches and between three doubles partners went 13-5 as a sophomore.
Dana Kelly: Rocky Mount and Barton tennis sophomore had 1-1 record playing in the number six position And in doubles 3-2 when partnering with Randi Price.
Abby Glover: Northern Nash and Barton golf.... Sophomore had a scoring average of 95.25 this fall.
Lindsey Sharp: Nash Central and Barton softball. Batted 33 times last spring for a 242 batting average.
Evie Hunter: Rocky Mount and NC Wesleyan... Sophomore volleyball had 150 points as outside hitter for the Lady battling Bishops.
Kasey Cooke : Rocky Mount and Western Carolina.... On roster but did not play this fall. Her freshman year 2013 played in 20 games and scored twice to be only freshman player to score a goal.
Casey Strickland: Southern Nash and Barton Tennis. On roster but did not play this fall.
Meredith Bissette: Leesville Road Raleigh and University of South Florida Freshman softball player has many family members in Rocky Mount area.
We have so many athletes playing all over and in all kind of sports. If you know of one that I have missed let me know.

-Deon Lavender (FR): SN and Virginia Apprentice School Football: Played in 10 games and had a 134.7 QB Rating. Completed 72-121 passes for 943yds and 6 TD's against 4 interceptions
-Tracey Coppedge (JR): SN and Elon Football: Rushed for 663yds and 1 TD on 182 attempts
-Terron Huffman (FR): SN and UNC-Pembroke Football: Played for the first time after injuries in his first to years in college. Caught 8 passes for 93yds
-Aaron McFarland (JR): SN and Coastal Carolina Football: Registered 22 Total Tackles, 3 Tackles for Loss and 2 Sacks
-Cameron Gardner (R-FR): SN and Wake Forest Football: Saw action in 2 games on the offensive line
-Josh Sessoms (R-SO): SN and NC State Football: Saw action in 12 games for the Wolfpack on defense and/or special teams and registered 3 tackles
-Braxton Riggins (R-FR): SN and Elizabeth City State Football: Red Shirted this season
-Corey Shultz (R-FR): SN and UNC-Pembroke Football: Red Shirted this season
-Frank Hampton (FR): SN and Fayetteville Methodist Football: Is listed on the Roster but saw no playing time
-Danyelle Noland (FR): SN and St Augs Volleyball: Registered 141 Kills and 68 Digs. Will also play softball this spring
