Gone From Us Toooo Early

This morning the Lord took the suffering away from one of the most inspirational Gryphons ever Holly Fryar age 21.  I hope that you have had a chance in your life to meet Holly during her five year battle with cancer.  In fact my family didn't know Holly until her illness.

The spring of 2010 Holly was the goalie for one of the best girls soccer teams in the history of Rocky Mount.  She became sick was diagnosed and our daughter Morgan became friend's with Holly during the "One Voice " talent show put on by the  Rocky Mount IB  students at RMHS.  Morgan has a rather good singing voice but not being in the  program she was there to fill in with talent.

Holly and Morgan became great friends.  Holly in the past five years has spent many nights at my home in  fact I had never spoken to her until she came into our house one night after she became sick.  Morgan went with Holly many times during the summers when Holly went to Chapel Hill for weekly treatments.

If you think that it was your job to cheer Holly up you were wrong.  Holly is the one that made you feel better.  The past several years the "One Voice" talent show all monies raise were sent to the Cancer center in Chapel Hill in Holly's name.

Holly entered UNC in the fall of 2012 but her persistent illness made to much to stay in school and fight her battle.  There was a point when the doctors said this is all we can do.  That did not stop Holly.  She lived what life the Lord gave her to the fullest and every step of the way she was making those around her feel better.

There are many of you that knew her had window stickers that read HOLLY STRONG.  That tells me that in many ways her life had effected your life just like it has in the Doughtie household.

Services are pending and we send to the entire Fryer family our condolences and prayers

Cancer won the battle with Holly Fryer but I know today Holly sits in the golden streets of heaven because if there was ever an angel on earth HOLLY  FRYAR WAS AN ANGEL.
