In Rocky Mount the hits were spraying by both sides early as Rocky Mount plated two runs in the bottom of the first. Nash Central made one error on the night and it happened on the first batter of the game. The Gryphons responded with four straight hits from Spencer Ramsey, Logan Pearce, David Harrison and Jake Philbeck with RBI coming off Harrison and Philbeck's bats.
The Bulldogs pushed across four runs in the third after the first two batters got out. John Michael Kelly started the rally with a single followed by a hit batter a two run double from Tyler Sherrod. Another walk and back to back hits by Cameron Taylor and Chase Minshew drove home runs three and four.
The Bulldogs exploded for six in the fourth push the lead to 10-2. The fourth started with hits by Hunter Robinson, Colby Carter and John Michael Kelly. A fielders choice by Noah Shrock produced their first run. A walk brought about a Gryphon Pitching change as Pat Smith replaced starter Zack Keeter and his replacement Forest bell was greeted by hits from Cameron Taylor and chase Minshew. Hunter Robinson's double brought home two more runs.
The Gryphons responded by scoring a five spot in the bottom of the fourth David Harrison and Jake Philbeck open the inning with back to back hits. A walk and a single by Forest Bell plated one run. A bases load walk to Will Hedgepeth scored another. Josh Pittman's walk sent home another run. Logan Pearce single brought home two more to cut the lead to 10-7.
The wheels fell off for the Gryphons in the sixth with two errors, a Chase Minshew single scoring a run. Colby Carter hit knocked home two more runs. John Michael Kelly collected his third hit of the night before the sixth inning ended.
Still in the seventh the Bulldogs added three more runs after two walks an RBI single by Hunter Robinson and another Colby Carter hits brought home two more.
On the night Nash Central pounded out 18 his while Rocky Mount had eight. All three Gryphon errors the Bulldogs followed each with hits resulting on the 16-7 final.
Fike holds the lead in the conference race at 4-2. Nash Central, Rocky Mount, Hunt and Northern Nash are all 3-3 and Southern Nash has sunk to 2-4.
