Volley Ball Wins Again

The lady Gryphon Volley Ball team won at Nash Central on Thursday despite missing two starters from the lineup. Lady Gryphons win 3-1 winning 25-17,25-5, 19-25, and 25-17.

This makes their conference mark 6-0 but unless some people get healthy fast Tuesday will be a day of judgement for the unbeaten conference mark at the Ladies travel to Hunt. Tamisha Walker got clearance from the doctor to resume practice starting today from her sprained ankle but even yesterday she is still favoring her ankle. Evie Hunter who missed yesterday game should be back Tuesday.

Lady Gryphon tennis lost to Nash Central Thursday 6-3. All any coach can ask from their players is to practice hard and get better as the season goes on. If yesterday match is any indication then the Lady Gryphons are improving as Nash Central white washed the Lady Gryphons two weeks ago in Rocky Mount 9-0. Nash Central remains unbeaten in conference play while Rocky Mount drops to 3-3.

Last night the ACC got back a little respect in the national spot light as Miami beat Pittsburgh 31-3. This is the second straight Thursday night victory by the ACC over the Big East. Both victories were against the top two favorites in the Big East.

Since I can no longer watch the Atlanta Braves every night like it use to be, I don't watch much baseball any more so when I watch a game most of the time it is an inning here and there. In other words I just don't have a team I root for like I use to. If I am going to pull for a team this year it has got to be the Tampa Bay Rays. Boy did they hitch up their britches this week after losing the first two games to the New York Yankees in New York.

Last night the Rays beat the Yankees for the second game in a row and have gotten within a half game of the Yankees for first place. They are fun to watch and too me right now the Rays and Phillies are the best two teams in baseball.
