This Friday night WZAX Jammin 99 will carry the Tarboro-East Duplin game. That leaves Northern Nash fans who don't attend the game in limbo or very active on their cell phones to friends who will be there.
Paul Andre called me after the Tarboro game Friday night to see if I was available to fill in for him during the Tarboro game. I hated to turn it down down but I have a family commitment this weekend.
It is a shame to think we have reached the third round in high school football season and a game as big as Northern -Hunt will not be on locally. Those in Wilson County can pick it up with their local am station.
The N C State Maryland game for first place in the Atlantic Division of the ACC will be an ABC game at 3.30 Saturday afternoon. If State wins they play Virginia Tech the following Saturday night for the ACC Title. The Wolfpack Sports Network announced during the basketball game last night that they will stick with football until it is over Saturday night. Wolfpack basketball has a game at 6.00 pm and they will tape that and start the replay as soon as football is over.
Speaking of basketball: I think there is one thing that both N C State and North Carolina both can quit worrying about. Both C J Leslie and Harrison Barnes will be back next year. Neither will be one and done like all the hoop-la in preseason has predicted.
Barnes's problem is Carolina doesn't have a guard to get him the ball when he is ready to score. Leslie needs about 40 more pounds on his body. If either do turn pro after this season I think they will become a Josh Powell. Powell left State after his sophomore year and was coming on like gang busters for the Pack. He was no where close to being ready for the NBA and played several years in Europe before he has finally found a NBA team.
Monday night football tonight Chargers-Broncos. This could be a 44-40 game.

NCSU administrators have set a bad precedent by not monitoring the heavy drinking during tailgating at Carter Finley for football games. Fans only get worse when they are given passes at halftime to leave, go drink and come back in. By the end of the game the stands are littered with "airplane size" liquor bottles. Fans have even gotten comfortable by taking their drinking habits to away games as evidence in Chapel Hill this past weekend. What used to be family friendly environment has turned out similar to a Redskins - Eagles game in DC or Philly.
