Rolling-Rolling- Rolling

If there is one thing that Coleman Pitt Post 58 American Legion team is doing this year and that is score runs.  Tonight at Mount Olive College Post 58 was  scoring again.  They were held to eight runs but that was twice what Wayne County could score as Coleman Pitt Post 58 wins 8-4.

Post 58 will be back at home at Nash Central High school  Saturday afternoon at 5.00pm as they play Edenton in a double header.  These two games are conference games so these two are very important for future playoff home field advantage.  58 is now 10-3 and riding an eight game winning streak including 4-0 in division play. This eight game winning streak 58 has score 89 runs while giving up just 24.  That's 11 runs per game while allowing just three per.

I have been scouring the Internet looking at all the summer baseball leagues and I can not find one local player on any league team this summer.  I cruised the Coastal Plains League here in North-South Carolina and Virginia area and the Cape Cod League and the New England Baseball league.

Interestingly enough Brian Goodwin is listed on the roster of the team that he played for in the Cape Cod League last year Harwich but there is no number by his name. I also found that to be the case for every player on any team in the College World Series they are listed but without a number. This would make me think that Goodwin is waiting to see how negotiations are going with the Washington Nationals.

I am hearing that as the 34th pick in the draft he could get 1.5 million or more to sign with Washington.  If  I was him I think I would wait  a while too.

I am hearing that Tyler Joyner in not playing this summer up north because of a non baseball injury last winter has not healed in order for him to play this summer.

Still no word on Xavier Macklin in any talks he has going with the Oakland A's.  Like Brian Goodwin X is waiting to see what unfolds here in the next couple of weeks.
