Fike has set themselves up for a run at the title at they beat Northern Nash 21-14. Northern Nash continues to play tough defense but can't score enough to win a game. Fike can throw a monkey wrench in the Big East if they were to beat Hunt next week. If Fike wins and Southern Nash beats Nash Central then Fike can take the top spot in the conference. If Hunt wins they take the championship our right. Should Nash Central beat Southern ,Fike Beat Hunt then a three way tie for first and the home field in the playoffs would come down to the tie breaker.
It is possible that Hunt should they lose next week and a three way tie occurred that with a 9-1 record have to go
The last game ever played at the Rocky Mount Athletic complex went about as expected in the end but Rocky Mount had the Firebirds of Southern squirming at half time. The Gryphons had a touchdown and field goal to only a touchdown for Southern Nash and lead 9-6 at the half. Southern wins the second half 28-0 in to win the last game ever at the RMAC 34-9 over Rocky Mount.
Next week Wilson County's schools play for the title while two of Nash County's
Tarboro keeps their home playoff game alive as they rout Farmville Central 52-3.
There is good news for the Lee Winstead family in Nashville. Lee came home from Pitt Memorial today after over a three week stay from brain swelling which occurred after he was hit by a thrown ball while warming up for a little league game. The Doctors at Pitt say this is the fastest recovery they have ever seen from this type severe injury.
