Price Sister's Win Regional
Randi and Kaley Price won the doubles tennis regional Title Saturday at the Tennis complex at Barton College. They join Rocky Mount's Mckenzie Warner who will be playing in the singles. The State Championships begin Friday at Burlington for the 3-A.
Both Nash Central and Rocky Mount will now focus on the second round of the team competition in tennis as they both are on the road Tuesday in round two. #2 Big East seed Rocky Mount travels to Eastern Wayne who is the #2 seed from the Eastern Carolina. The first two rounds unbeaten Nash Central is on the road as they travel to South Brunswick who is the #1 seed from the Waccamaw.
Timing is a great factor in all of our lives and Nash Central has not been very lucky with timing. Each year the conferences rotate in the playoffs so one conference does not always get all the home games. Each year there is a priority list and the Big East is near the back on priority which puts Nash Central traveling in the first two rounds.
Should Nash Central win Tuesday they will be a home team in the third round because they are in the same bracket as both Rocky Mount and Eastern Wayne and they are both #2 seeds so Nash Central can get a home playoff game if they survive this week.
Like to say congratulations to Hunt High Schools boys soccer team as they finished the regular season unbeaten at 24-0. Football in order to go unbeaten you either have to win 10 or 11 games. 24 games there are plenty of chances to stumble once and Hunt has been ready for the task. If you recall they made it all the way to the 4th round of the playoffs last year.
Monday afternoon at 4.30 the Big East soccer tournament starts for the 3-6/4-5 seeds. That pits #4 Rocky Mount hosting #5 Northern Nash at 4.30pm. The winner plays unbeaten Hunt is the semi finals
