I have tried to watch the NBA Finals but I find the quality of play to be horrendous. I didn't get home until near 11.00pm Tuesday night and there was only six minutes to go in the game so I watched.
Has the NBA put a wall up at the three point line which says no passes beyond this point? I don't know how many threes were taken and only a few trips did any one attempt to drive to the basket or even pass to someone else who was open.
What little bit of the game that I saw I can not bite Lebron like everyone else seems to be doing. All the experts have been saying that Miami has three Superstars and will win because Dallas only has one. I think what you saw Tuesday night in the fourth quarter is there is only one ball and Lebron gave it to the hot man in D-Wade. To me Lebron was about the only player on the court that acted as if he had team mates while everyone else was me,me, me. I think one thing is plain for everyone to see is that Dwayne Wade is maybe the best player in the NBA bar none.
I like looking at other versions of reports on games that I saw myself whether I as a reporter or a fan. There have been several Legion games this summer where Justin Hite of the Telegram and I sit in the pressbox three feet a part. I like reading his take and compare it to what I think I saw.
That goes for the other teams version as well. I was on line reading the Roanoke Chowan Herald which is the Ahoskie paper and Post 102 coach Dave Ellis made the comment that their 14-3 lost last week to Post 58 the game was closer than the score.
You know he is right. We tend to forget the error that opened a door for three runs to score. If it hadn't been for a super defensive play here and there the other side would of had more or we might of had less. Winning sometimes makes you forget how tough the game really was while losing only shows you your mistakes or only if that hadn't happen.
Tarboro has not had a Legion team in a couple of years now. Dave Ellis told me the other night that Elizabeth City is planning on having a Legion team next year and if that happens Edenton's supply of players will be divided. They will no longer get the Dare County kids as well as Pasquatank County.
Just look at Post 58 these past two seasons and even though Tarboro's Legion team struggled to win any games they still had three or four players who can play. Last year Kyle Norvelle was a big stick for 58 and this year there are three or four making tremendous contributions to Post 58.
Having a supply of players aids winning. Desire takes care of the rest.
